Long established as a collective of outstanding musicians the Pixels Ensemble returns to the OCMS with a wonderful programme: a Rebecca Clarke composition for two violins and piano, Mozart’s piano concerto K449 and Elgar’s great piano quintet composed in 1918. Alice, Elgar’s wife, noted at the time, ‘E. writing wonderful new music’ – a sentiment we wholeheartedly share.
Vastly experienced and versatile, Pixels Ensemble is a group of established chamber music players with a shared passion for performing the finest repertoire from the classical period to the present day. Its members are all established soloists, chamber musicians, recording artists, orchestral principals and explorers of new music. The collective, which appears in a wide range of combinations, lends itself to innovative programming embracing great variety within individual concerts.
