Trio Isimsiz

Sunday 12 February 2023 at 3pm

Programme

Haydn piano trio No 45 in Eb major Hob. XV : 29

Schumann piano trio No 1 in D minor Op90

Brahms piano trio No2 in C major Op87

Founded at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Trio Isimsiz, a multiple international prize-winner, is one of the finest piano trios around. ‘…it’s hard to know how Trio Isimsiz could have bettered such artistry and distinctiveness’ wrote The Strad in 2018. For us their artistry will shine through in the compositional delight of Haydn, the romanticism of Schumann and the beauty and complexity of the C major trio by Brahms.

In 2015 Trio Isimsiz (Isimsiz means “without a name” in Turkish) won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the Trondheim Competition, and in 2017 2nd Prize at the Haydn International Competition in Vienna. It has performed widely in Europe, highlights including recitals at the Stavanger, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Peasmarsh and Gower Festivals (broadcast by Radio 3), the Tivoli Concert Hall, Snape Maltings, Fundacion Juan March in Madrid and Marianischer-Saal in Lucerne. Further afield they have undertaken tours in China and Argentina. Trio Isimsiz are currently Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Erdem Misirlioglu (piano), Pablo Hernán Benedí (violin), Edvard Pogossian (‘cello).
